Is Moddroid safe? Question. I've been using it for about a year now but I'm seeing a lot of notices from the original modder saying that I shouldn't download from there, that there's malware, and that it can spy through your cameras. Is that possible? Virustotal hasn't detected anything I've tested so far. Archived post.

Just downloaded playit vip mod and scanned on virus total it said 0 detections and green ticks for all the scanners. I presume it's safe but hard to know... it safe if you download an app that was uploaded 10day ago min bc it the user's that post the apk not moddroid.

Moddroid is safe I use it personally but you should scan any file by viruatotal first just in case

But... you should always double-check it using virustotal. It's mostly a safe site but there's a few shady apps , download virustotal just to be on the safe side. it's my go-to website for modded apps, never had any problem whatsoever. So far for me, Moddroid has been good and safe.

It's giving you a false positive. It's not a virus if mods are from a reputable source. The only reputable source I trust is Mobilism, HappyMod and ACMarket. I personally find the Google Play protect feature useless because it hasn't stopped malicious apps from getting uploaded to the Play Store.
