Portugal at the Olympics is a history which includes 30 games in 20 countries and 600+ athletes. Since 1912, the Portugal has contributed to the growth of the "Olympic Movement". The International Olympic Committee's official abbreviation for Portugal is POR.

Portugal first participated at the Olympic Games in 1912 and has since taken part in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games. Earlier that year, the Olympic Committee of Portugal (COP, Comit Olmpico de Portugal ) was recognised by the International Olympic Committee as the Portuguese National Olympic Committee .

It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the west and south and by Spain to the north and east. Its capital city is Lisbon. It has been a member of the European Union since 1986. Portugal was under a dictatorship between 1926 and 1974 called Estado Novo. The dictatorship of Estado Novo was ended by a peaceful revolution called Carnation Revolution.
