Is It Simply Not Possible To Watch Youtube Vr On The Index Reddit

I have tried Virtual Desktop - It never manages to play a VR video from YouTube when I paste the link. I have tried other VR players - They render VR videos as a 2D screen. Other websites ask me whether I would like to play a video in VR mode and it works, but I get no such prompt from the YouTube website.

You can still watch 2dvr videos but 3dvr wont work as far as I know. It used to be possible to use a YouTube-dl based tool and watch them offline to bypass the broken YouTube on Steam, or stream directly in players that support it but it doesnt work anymore

Has anyone figured out how to be able to watch 360 and 180 videos on the index? Most of the posts I've seen mention the YouTube VR app but that has been removed from the steam store and as far as I can tell the desktop apps don't help much either. This thread is archived.

i just press the vr button on those 360 videos in browser, but i have mixed reality, isn't the same for index? it was an extension for the old edge but now it's build-in How to use Look for the Windows Mixed Reality icon on supported videos.

Because it's a premiere/ live I cannot download and open it in a media player, somehow the only way rn is Google vr cardboard on your phone, basically the first gen tech. Sep 27, 2022 I've never got youtube to work in VR but video players work and other video sites work. I haven't tried very hard though. There's apparently a way to do it with Bigscreen beta.
