Dec 4, 2023 The Tahoe Dam controls the top 6.1 feet of Lake Tahoes water, so when the water goes below the lakes natural rim which sits at an elevation of 6,223 feet water doesnt reach the dam. However, there is water in the Truckee River further downstream due to groundwater underflow and seepage.
