I'd suggest SF5 first, Tekken is way harder. Tekken also doesn't strictly follow it's own high mid low schematic. some mid's are evasive to mids, etc, like a lot of deep foundational knowledge is needed. And from my own experience, SF4 was one of my most first serious learning games for learning fighters.

sf6 is the best street fighter game in a long time. tekken 8 is a great tekken game. do you want a 2d or 3d game. i think tekken is easier to start. you push buttons and things happen but its harder to be moderate to good. sf is harder to get started because of motions and cancels but is easier to be average once you get it down.

The way people feel about Tekken is how I feel about Street Fighter 4 and 5. It's like Street Fighter has been slowly morphing into Tekken ever since SF4, arguably since SF3. Projectiles get weaker, normals get stubbier, walk speeds get slower, pushback on blocked attacks gets shorter, combos get longer.
